Rheostats and coiled potentiometers
Potentiometers and rheostats manufactured by Torivac are essential components for precise voltage and current regulation in electrical and industrial systems, either through parallel or series connections. Our range of potentiometers, available in 3 and 5 W versions, is distinguished by their compact design, excellent linearity, smooth actuation and high precision, ensuring reliable operation and long life even in demanding applications.
For ceramic rheostats, Torivac offers high heat dissipation solutions, manufactured from 12 W up to higher powers in assembled, single-phase, double or triple configurations. The indicated power ratings are valid under adequate ventilation conditions; in environments with limited ventilation, a reduction of up to 20 % is recommended to avoid overheating and ensure optimum performance.
The resistive core consists of a ceramic ring of steatite or alumina of high hardness and anti-hygroscopic character, which eliminates the risk of corrosion by electrolysis. Top quality resistive wires -constantan, nichrome or kanthal- are wound on this core, selected according to the ohmic value and the power required. In the absence of specific specifications, the most suitable material is always used for each application.
Ceramic rheostats
The rheostats manufactured by Torivac have high heat dissipation and are manufactured from 12W up to a wide range of power ratings in assembled assemblies. These power ratings are applicable with good ventilation conditions. In installations where ventilation is poor, these power ratings should be reduced by up to 20% to avoid overheating. The core is a ceramic ring of steatite or alumina of high hardness, anti-hygroscopic, thus avoiding corrosion effects by electrolysis.
