Toroidal Transformers

Torivac has over sixty years’ experience in manufacturing all types of toroidal transformers.

Toroidal transformers represent, like no other type, the ideal design of what a transformer should look like. In fact, Faraday designed and wound the first transformer on a toroidal core. The toroidal cores manufactured by Torivac are constructed with grain-oriented magnetic sheets, with very low losses and a high saturation induction which, after heat treatment, allows saturation values of up to 16,000 gauss to be achieved. In the toroidal transformer, the magnetic flux is uniformly concentrated in the core and, thanks to the absence of air gaps, vibrations are eliminated. In addition, because the winding is distributed over the entire core surface, noise caused by magneto friction is virtually eliminated and heat dissipation is improved.

These details significantly improve the characteris transformers compared to conventional transformers.
