Torivac at Matelec 2024 – Exploring the market and strengthening connections
Our annual visit to Matelec
As in every edition, some members of the Torivac team made a trip to Madrid to attend Matelec 2024. This fair is already a tradition in our calendar because it is the key meeting point for the electrical and technological sector. In addition to seeing the latest innovations, it gives us the opportunity to catch up with customers, suppliers, partners and explore how the market is currently moving.
This year, however, the experience was not what we expected. Although we found some interesting products/booths, there were also some organizational problems that affected the flow of the event.
New trends and solutions at a glance
At Torivac, we always find it a great opportunity to appreciate the innovations in the industry. Companies were showing their technologies and specific solutions for voltage regulation. However, we did not have the opportunity to appreciate the ideas they had to offer, as we felt that the distribution of the stands and the management of the spaces was something that affected a lot. Some areas seemed a bit cluttered, and that made it difficult to concentrate on the presentations and products.
Despite these difficulties, this visit has been key for us. Seeing firsthand what other players in the sector are doing helps us to keep up to date, anticipate trends and consider new ideas that we could integrate into our own company.
Meeting with customers and suppliers: A key issue
One of the highlights of Matelec is the opportunity to meet face to face with our customers and suppliers. However, this year it was not as easy as on other occasions. In several booths, we noticed that the staff seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and sometimes it was complicated to get the attention we were looking for to go deeper into certain topics. On the other hand, the space of the event was much smaller than in other years, which generated more discomfort and overwhelm among visitors and staff.
Reflections for the future
Although this edition of Matelec did not meet expectations, at Torivac we value the experience it has given us in other editions.
Matelec is, in the end, an opportunity to learn, reflect and see where we can improve. It allows us to see the market from another perspective and motivates us to move forward with new ideas. So we hope that the organization has noticed these mistakes and we can fix them for future editions.
